Cottà comes from one of the best-known Barbaresco subzones and is a historic cru one of  the first to be produced from a single vineyard. Halfway up the south-west slope, this small corner of our estate is adjacent to our historic Gepin and directly facing our Ronchi vineyards.
It’s a tiny area, producing no more than 15 hl from vines that for the most part are more than
50 years old. The clay marl soil produces rich, solid and robust wines which marry well with the elegant
Nebbiolo. Despite the small area of the vineyard, we decided in 2015 to continue experimenting in search of yet another expression of the great Barbaresco spirit. This experimentation has shown once again the great wealth of our terroir. As with all of our other cru Ronchi, Ovello and Montersino, Cottà is aged in German and Austrian (Stockinger) oak.  Production is limited to just 2,000 bottles.
